The disposable containers we use, such as paper cups and plastic containers, are discarded after one use, and production and consumption are repeated again. This time, we applied lacquer to the surfaces of familiar, discarded objects, and while preserving the original gravity of lacquer, they were reborn as objects that add richness and warmth to our daily lives, and that we become more attached to each time we use them. By using traditional techniques and a spirit of cherishing things, this product is a thought-provoking exploration of new possibilities in craftsmanship.
私たちが日常で使用している紙コップやプラスチック容器などの使い捨て容器は、一度使用されるとすぐに廃棄され、また新たに生産と消費が繰り返される。ものを大切にする精神と伝統的な技術を用いる事で、新たな工芸品の可能性を模索した。そこで、身近な使い捨て容器の表面に漆を塗るという新しいアプローチを試みた。この試みにより、漆の重厚感や大量生産ならではの削ぎ落とされた美しさを兼ね備えた、使用するたびに豊かさと愛着を感じられるものへと生まれ変わった。これらの消費される日用品に新たな価値が加わり、私たちの日常に豊かさをもたらしつつ、環境への配慮もしたアイテムとなっている。
